November 30th, 2011Well… it was fairly obvious that actually releasing a mix every week wouldn’t work out. But it was nice while the illusion lasted. So anyway, small change of plans, they won’t be literally ‘weekly’… let’s rather call it ’spontaneous’. Like today - I bought some new tracks and remixes on Beatport and wanted to check them out. Rather eff’d up stuff, to be honest, but well.. something else. And a very cool remix of one of my current favorites, Hummus by Crookers, is also included. So have fun, don’t expect easy listening and spread the word

Weekly Mix - Week 46/11
November 16th, 2011Wow… it’s already week 46 of the calendar… still, this is the first in my hopefully long series of weekly mixes. First off, if you don’t know me, let me tell you a bit about belgoray. I did a lot of garage parties in Eastbelgium back in the days with very simple mechanics. We didn’t know what we were doing, but we were enjoying it
After moving to Berlin a year ago I got back in touch with my inner party animal (it was m.i.a. for quite a while) and since a couple of months, I’m experimenting with digital dj-ing. So you don’t have to be one of the Daft to hear that I’m making silly mistakes and I’m learning… but, just like 10 years ago, I’m having fun doing it. So get your party shoes on, crank it up and be part of the fun!
For the first weekly mix, I wanted to do something very energetic. Basically, this is the kind of stuff that I like most, that keeps me on the clubs’ dance floors until I literally can’t move anymore. Big breaks, heavy beats and crazy shit in between.

Tune Tips: BNR Trax || Maelstrom - Tanger

A new recent release on the “BNR Trax” label which has strengthened its image as probably the hottest place to find insiders’ tips. Maelstrom is a young French guy and the break in “Tanger” is just ridiculously good, can’t stop listening to it. Listen to a preview of the track here - the magic moment happens at 0:53, be prepared:

November 15th, 2011Hooray, I finally figured out what I should do with this blog/website/whatever. I’m planning on doing weekly mixes, releasing them both on Facebook and on belgoray.eu. The blog has the advantage that I can write something about the tracks I used etc. So should be fun, if you’re into Electro House in all its shapes and varieties.
